untitledIn recognition of World Food Day on Friday, October 17th, employees at Farm Credit Canada and local food banks across Saskatchewan will be collecting donations of food and money for people who are hungry in our province.  Coronach School will once again participate in the FCC Drive Away Hunger food campaign.  Collections take place between September 29th to October 14th.  Below is a list of most needed food items according to Food Banks Canada:

Pasta (canned or dry), pasta sauces, canned meats and fish, canned fruits and vegetables, flour, infant foods and baby formula, dairy (canned and powdered), whole grain cereals, canned good (beans, soups & stews), rice, and meat alternatives (peanut butter, soy, assorted packaged nuts)

Last year we collected 859 pounds of food!!!  Let’s try and beat that total this year!!  Bags were handed out to students on September 26th.  Food items many be dropped off at the school between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

This year Westomore Coal will make a cash donation matching the number of pounds of food collected by the school and community!!!!!
