This year, the grade 6 – 8 Arts Education students are partnering with third-year pre-service teachers from the University of Regina. The goals of this partnership are: for the younger kids to teach the older almost-teachers about learning from the perspective of middle-years students, to provide learning mentors for our kids, to build relationships and to have fun! Last Wednesday, to kick off this unique partnership, the two groups met face to face for the first time. The Mortlach students spent an hour teaching their university partners about Graffiti art, painting the windows around the school and even drawing using bubble gum. The hour was a wonderful discovery of learning Middle-Years-Arts-Ed-style!
