A Note to Teachers and Parents This page was created to compliment the guided reading levels we use in our classrooms. Skills that a child should be learning at each level can be reinforced by playing the games linked to each page. In our classroom, we use this page as a centre during the time we are doing guided reading with small groups of children. We hope that parents will find these games useful at home to help their child to practice their skills as well. At school, each child has a log-on card with their user name and password. This card has coloured dots across the bottom. At the beginning of the year, each child starts out with only a red dot, meaning that they are only allowed to go to the games on the red page. The teacher puts a new coloured dot on the child's card when that child is ready for the skills that are represented by the new colour. Each child moves at their own pace, so in our classroom, children have different numbers of dots. |
